Very early stage of the Moonscape at HCT
These past two weeks have been so busy on a couple of fronts. We have seen major milestones being achieved on the Huntsville Center for Technology (HCT) front as well as back at corporate headquarters as we prepare for some very cool, and yet to be announced, activities at the US Space and Rocket Center here in Huntsville on January 31. Stay tuned for exciting announcements.
This week in my blog I wanted to point our readers to some great new articles on our Rocket City Space Pioneers (RCSP) website. We have articles on all things aerospace, but this week I'd like to feature an article relating to “Rocket Power” and the influence and impact it has had on our history and pop culture. In the articles, we take you back to rocketry in the B.C. era, as well as giving you insight into today's rocket power.
The Rocket City Space Pioneers seek to educate and inspire through the Google Lunar X PRIZE mission.
I am really excited about the cool iPad game our newest team member, Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA), has developed for the Rocket City Space Pioneers. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rocket-city-space-pioneers/id481158783?mt=8. We’d like to thank the great team at AMA for all the hard work they put into making this fun game. We hope you enjoy it.
2011 was an exciting year for the Rocket City Space Pioneers. After entering the Google Lunar X PRIZE competition in September of 2010, things got extremely busy for RCSP and the team.

This week, once again, I have been spending a lot of time with students and faculty at the Huntsville Center for Technology (HCT). The excitement is in the air as we near some very big milestones on our Engineering Development Lander (EDL), rover, and moonscape.

We had another great week of progress on our Engineering Development Lander (EDL) and our moonscape efforts at the Huntsville Center for Technology (HCT). They are a great STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) partner. The kids are really creative and are gaining a lot of hands-on experience building a system that will be used for planning, fit checks, etc.
