EARTHRISE SPACE INC. ANNOUNCES WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA AS A NEW PARTNER

Omega Envoy, the Floridian team that is competing in the Google Lunar X PRIZE (GLXP) is proud to announce that they have gained another high-quality partner – Workforce Central Florida.  Workforce Central Florida (WCF) is the region’s workforce expert, an authority for workforce planning, programs, and the labor market. WCF connects employers to the largest pool of talent in the area and provides worker resources and training.

Earthrise Space, Inc. (ESI) is the non-profit research institution that runs Omega Envoy and is dedicated to develop space technology in collaboration with industry and academic institutions. ESI seeks to create the first viable commercial lunar delivery service to support the future’s space transportation infrastructure. The main goal of this partnership is to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by providing students and professionals with internships to become acquainted with the latest technology being used today in the new-space industry.

“It is always a wonderful thing for us to find quality STEM partners within our region assisting us with our mission to raise awareness and recruitment of careers in science, technology, engineering, and math,” said Nirmala Ramlakhan, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Research at WCF.  “We are excited to continue this mission with Earthrise Space, Inc. and look forward to what the future holds for both of us.”

ESI can provide services to private companies, defense/government agencies, and educational institutions that currently have the resources to explore space and are looking for low cost products that will accomplish their mission requirements. This will enhance the accessibility of technology and increase educational interest amongst the workforce that drives the space industry by increasing its knowledge and understanding what is to be learned through the use of these systems.

Through the Google Lunar X PRIZE (GLXP) and government contracts such as the Innovative Lunar Demonstrations Data (ILDD) Contract from NASA, this initiative will enable the creation of a new economic system to support lunar exploration as well as Technology Readiness Level (TRL) advancement of innovative, commercial space systems.
