Next Giant Leap attend the "Stanford on the Moon" event along with 5 other GLXP teams.  Teams each gave a short presentation followed by an informal, meet & greet, social where we were able to talk further about our plans with students, faculty and alumni.  The event was well attended and it was great to catch up with some of our fellow teams.

Next Giant Leap was founded by Mike Joyce. Mike owns B9Creations, LLC which manufactures licensed full size replicas of the iconic Lost in Space Robot.  Here's a video showing these replicas during final assembly.

September 6th, 2011 - Next Giant Leap team member, eSpace: The Center for Space Entrepreneurship announced the beginning of a collaborative partnership with the Space Angels Network, LLC to help foster the success of entrepreneurial space ventures.

The NGL Lunar Lander is a highly modified microsat bus developed by NGL team member, the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC).  SNC is currently building 18 satellites based on this bus for Orbcomm.  The first two Orbcomm satellites are scheduled to be deployed in November from a SpaceX Falcon 9 which is also carrying a Dragon capsule as part of the NASA Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) program.

Well here it is nearing September already. NGL team members are busy sending kids back to school, etc. It's been a great summer and I think everyone is recharged and ready to get back to work.

Team Next Giant Leap was represented at the annual team summit by team founder and NGL president, Michael Joyce. Attendance was strong with most teams represented. Some of the highlights included an excellent panel on funding strategies, a tour of the NASA Ames Research Center and of course the team presentations.

The twin Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) spacecraft arrived this week at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. There the spacecraft will undergo final testing and processing before launching on a Delta II Heavy launch vehicle later this year.
