Moon Express moves HQ, Launches Design Contest

Moffett Field, CA (September 29, 2012) - Moon Express is moving from a shared space to our own building. We are currently remodeling the new building but plan to be moved in by the end of October. This move which will more than quadruple our current office space demonstrates not just the achievements of Moon Express but the growth of the commercial space industry as a whole.  We signed a 5 year lease so this will be our home during our fist mission to the Moon in 2014 and for at least 3 years after.

To help celebrate this significant move we would like to ask your help.

Help us decorate the new building!

It's simple to participate:

1. Download the image above

2. Using photoshop or a similar image editing program, create a design mockup

3. Email your mockup as a .png or .jpg to designchallenge@moonexpress.com

4. Pay attention to our blog in late October to see if your design is selected by the MoonEx team.

If your design is chosen we will give you the chance to consult with our design team after renovations are complete and you will receive a free limited edition Moon Express T-shirt not available for general sale.

We will be uploading submissions as we receive them on our pinterest board

Just to give you an idea of the kind of things for which we are looking, I attempted this challenge myself and my entry is below … please put it to shame.

If you want a more detailed look at the new building and by detailed I mean everything you ever wanted to know about MoonEx HQ … and a little more. Check out this skateboard tour of NASA Ames which shows both the current and new offices of Moon Express.

Since this article was published, Moon Express has changed its facility plans and will be moving its headquarters into alternative, better suited facilities in the NASA Research Park and will not be continuing this Design Contest. We'll be announcing our new offices in April 2013. Thanks for your interest in our expanding team, facilities and efforts to reach the Moon!
