EXPLORERS WANTED

It's been a long time coming.

Three decades ago, Peter Diamandis, Todd Hawley and I discovered each other's passion for space and joined forces to create the future we wanted to see. We had the great fortune to be embraced and supported by space leaders of the time and began meeting other like minded students who shared our passion.

We were Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, so that's what we called ourselves, and we held the first SEDS International Conference in 1982 at George Washington University. Three years later we founded the Space Generation Foundation, and two years after that the International Space University.

There are no words to describe what it is like 29 years later (!) to join 400+ students who converged last month in Boulder, Colorado for the 2011 SEDS SpaceVision Conference; or to give a "Space Generation" speech to hundreds of international students at their global conference year after year; or to describe the history of the ISU to the latest class joining thousands of alumni worldwide. The "Space Mafia" is out there in impressive numbers and is truly an influential agent of change in new space efforts across the planet.

The future is becoming what we wanted to see; it just took a little longer than we anticipated (with mentors like Arthur C. Clarke, Carl Sagan and Gerard O'Neill, perhaps our optimism was understandable...).

But today we're creating that future, not just talking about it, and I find myself competing for the best students and professionals who are deciding between building rockets, spaceships or Moon-landers. Holy cow - how cool is that! What an amazing time to be immersed in the space industry - that future we dreamed about is finally within our grasp.

Everyone working in the commercial space industry is making this future happen. There are more choices today form careers in NewSpace companies than there have ever been.

Moon Express is one of those companies. We're hiring, and we want the best.

Our job opportunities span every aspect of spacecraft design, propulsion, operations, robotics, avionics, mission architecture, science, project management, and business development, operations and administration. And yes, we even need lawyers.

Moon Express has a fast paced, dynamic culture that offers creativity and responsibility in every position beyond the scope of traditional jobs. We have a youthful staff led by some of the most experienced professionals in the industry; all passionate and dedicated toward our goals of launching the first commercial Moon mission, winning the Google Lunar X PRIZE and opening the resources of the Moon to benefit life on Earth and our future in space.

If you know you're up to the challenge...
