China Sends Their First Woman to The Final Frontier
Liu Yang, is a 33 year old Pilot in the Chinese Air Force, and the first female astronaut for China. She along with crew mates, Liu Wang, and mission commander Jing Haipeng, made a manual docking with the Tiangong 1 module this past Sunday. This is was only China's fourth manned space flight, and is part of a program to launch their own independent space station, with aspirations of continuing on from there to landing men on the surface of the Moon once again.
"BEIJING (AP) – A Chinese spacecraft carrying three astronauts carried out a manual docking with an orbiting module on Sunday, a first for the country as it strives to match American and Russian exploits in space.
