It seems that many Americans are under the vastly-mistaken impression that space exploration is in decline in the U.S. While it's true that the United States. does not currently have a native means to send humans into space, the notion that the U.S. space program has dissipated could not be further from the truth.


The members of the Day center for the elderly in Lod, took a break from their everyday activities to hear a lecture given by our very own volunteer Nurit, about SpaceIL and the journy of the first Israeli spacecraft. 
They were pleased to hear Israel is located in such a high place on the race to the moon, and were happy that they have been given a new topic to talk with their grandchildren about. 
Finally, they asked Nurit to come back and update them when the spacecraft lands on the moon.

ARCA performed a long range avionics tests regarding command-control and telemetry equipment. This equipment will be used for the Flight Command and Control Center and aerospace vehicles that are under development at ARCA. This test took place between Valcea and Olt Counties at a range of 98,7 km.

On the second day of the Team Summit, held in Santiago de Chile, the teams were updating on their status and activities. All teams except three attended the Summit.

The technical approach of each team is very diverse. While some of the teams are “just” developing a small rover to be boarded to another team’s lander, other teams are facing the amazing challenge of building their own launcher.

Some weeks ago, Barcelona Moon Team attended the GLXP Team Summit that was held in Santiago of Chile, this year. During three days the teams discussed many aspects of the mission with the X PRIZE Foundation and Google. They also presented their status and had fun!
