Barcelona Moon Team will attend next Friday June 22nd to the meeting organized at ESTEC in Holland to discuss potential interest of the European Space Agency on the Google Lunar X PRIZE European competitors.

The meeting is a joint initiative of ESA with HE Space Operations and with the X Prize Foundation and the Barcelona Moon Team, open to all European teams. The meeting will have two parts.

Barcelona Moon Team held its third plenary meeting last Wednesday. All the companies gathered at the INTA facilities in Torrejon de Ardoz (Madrid) under the roaring engines of the fighters based there.

The team reviewed the recent news from China where negotiations are going on to close a Launch Service Contract within weeks. The leading companies were updating the rest of the team about the status of its segment.

Barcelona Moon Team has completed a new trip to China where it held meetings with China Great Wall Industry Corporation about the team’s launcher and some technical cooperation between the Chinese Institutes and the Spanish Consortium.

The BMT delegation also met with the Chinese sponsors that see in the competition a good opportunity to get recognition in the western markets by sponsoring a cutting edge technology event that clearly position them as leading international brands.

Barcelona Moon Team and its leader Galactic Suite, congratulates Space X for its successful launch of the Falcon 9 carrying the Dragon capsule to the ISS. This is a cornerstone an expanded role for the private sector in space, such as the Google Lunar X PRIZE itself, promoting new low cost methods for private space exploration.

Barcelona Moon Team is preparing to attend to this year Team Summit meeting in Washington DC from May 28th to 31st. One more time, the teams meet to explain their status on the competition and exchange information and proposals between them.

Barcelona Moon Team lander will have 25 kilog rams of extra payload divided in several slots. Between two to four rovers can be integrated below the main lander’s platform, around the legs. The taxi fare for teams will be 800KEuros per kilogram of rover, e.g. 8 kg rover will cost the competitor just EUR 6,4 million placed on the Moon surface.

Barcelona Moon Team is offering flight opportunities in its lander. The team has extra volume and kilograms to offer to teams that were able to develop a lunar rover but have difficulties in completing other necessary phases of the mission.

The team plans to land 30kg of payload on the lunar surface besides its lunar rover. Customers can purchase capacity per kilogram, including all services to integrate it. Most of the cargo (25kg) will be integrated on the lander, while about 5kg will go on the rover.

Barcelona Moon Team held a conference last Wednesday at the Magna Aula in the Central University of Barcelona, the oldest within the city’s universities. The conference was framed within the open doors day for high school students. On that day, the students can get close to the different possibilities they may chose in a close future.

Barcelona Moon Team explained last week its project to the General Direction of Innovation within the Spanish Ministry of Economics. The meeting was held in Madrid to update the Ministry about the recent incorporations to the team and the relations with China Great Wall Industry Corporation.

The Ministry’s representatives were delighted about the good news and although the competition rules don’t allow for more than a 10% of public funding, they encourage the large commercial Spanish companies too, to support the team in this an amazing venture.

Barcelona Moon Team offers amazing marketing opportunities for sponsors. The team plans to land 30kg of payload on the Moon by mid 2014. Most of this mass will be scientific dedicated payload, but there is still space available for commercial payloads for companies that wish to take part on this amazing adventure and be there.
