During the flight of the Mission 6, ARCA will test the recovery of the IAR-111 Excelsion cabin crew, with rocket propelled parachutes. The 1000 kg cabin will have the capacity to transport a pilot and a navigator. ARCA will announce soon the exact date and location of the flight.

April 18, 2011 - by T2 lower section negative mold

ARCA completed today the composite materials casting for the IAR-111, T2 lower section negative mold.

ARCA completed the negative mold of the lower part of the T2 section of the IAR-111 airplane.

Team ARCA is accommodating with the EXTRA 300L acrobatic airplane, for the next day training flights, under the careful guidance of Laszlo Ferencz (Hawks of Romania) and Mugurel Ionescu (IAR-111 crew chief).

The team is removing the composite negativ mold of the T2 section from the pozitive mold.

Team ARCA performs a flight training on the EXTRA 300L airplane, at the Clinceni aerodrome, with Laszlo Ferencz, pilot in the national team of aerial acrobatics.

The team completed the composite materials negative mold of the T2 section of the IAR-111 airplane. This is the second largest mold that will be used for the airplane airframe construction
