ARCA has begun the construction of IAR-111's engine.
The engine, having 2,2m length and 600kg weigth is made out of composite materials like epoxy resins, enforced with quartz and carbon fibers.
The fuel is made out of liquid oxygen and kerosene that power the engine through an 1,2 MW turbine. The pressure in the combustion chamber is 44 atm, and the temperature reaches 3000 degrees Celsius.
