Building proper nitinols wheels for our robot
We are now in the stage of the first tests with the electrically activated nitinol wheels for our Dandelion robot.
Nitinol properties were explained in a previous blog.
We first tried with 3 volts, but the change was too slow, as can be seen in the video below:
We then changed the voltage to 4 volts, and a better response was observed. Later on, 6 volts were applied and a more ideal response was obtained:
This does not mean that this voltage will be necessarily used in the final setting, but it is a good starting point.
