Last week, Armando Azua, a member of our team, attended the Astrobiology Science Conference in Atlanta, organized by NASA every two years.

Besides having the opportunity to be present at conferences related to all robotic missions sent and being sent to different bodies of the Solar System, Armando presented his latest results on extremophiles of the Atacama Desert.

It must be noted that this trip was partially funded by Angelicum.

After a lot of work and logistics, the full Angelicum Team begun its activities at the XVII International Air and Space Fair  (FIDAE)

This event, one of the most important of the world in its field, has proved to be the foremost business centre in the region and it has been consolidated among the fair track at world level. It is the platform with major influence in the renewal and investment decisions in technology of the region; becoming, with that, the showcase of big brands and a gathering place for executives with a high decision power.

Last Friday, in Santiago Chile, the first meeting were all members of the Angelicum Team were present took place.

As the different sub-teams, (management, robotics, rocketry,etc) are distributed along Chile, this is the first time we all met in the same place.

As part as our preparations for the next International Air and Space Fair FIDAE 2012, which will take place in Santiago, Chile (see http://www.fidae.cl/portal_fidae.aspx), we are preparing a "moon-like" surface to show our Dandelion rover in a dedicated stand.

FIDAE is the biggest aerospace event in Latin America and more than 70 countries participate showing top of the line technology.

We recently received a new CNC Sherline 8 AXIS Delux full motorized milling machine. 

 

 

The new equipment was ready for a first test using LinuxCNC in an Ubuntu PC. The first trials were performed “on air”:
