I was very pleased to have Mary Cafasso, our team's technical leader, join me in attending the National Space Symposium last week.
We made several excellent contacts with potential vendors and partners, got to hang out a bit with Will and Becky from the GLXP, and even got to hear Big Bad Voodoo Daddy do a long set in the opening ceremonies.
We are extremely encouraged by the excitement about the GLXP from several of the companies we met. This is the big industry show for the Space Industry, and although the GLXP is still an unknown to many of the big players in the industry, we were surprised at how many did know about it and were excited to be asked to consider being involved.
Based on our initial meetings, Team LunaTrex will be setting up several follow-up meetings with those contacts to explore specifically how they can help what we are doing to go forward. There is a lot of expertise out there in areas that we needed vendors for, and it seems that our objective of landing the rover on the Moon in time to win the Prize is very doable.
It is our goal to fully assemble the team by or before Q4 of this year, with all Vendors, Partners, and Sponsors selected, committed and signed. We then intend to begin hardware construction later this year and early in 2009.
Stay Tuned!
Pete
