On November 2, Daniel Cross gave a presentation to ~50 high school physics students at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft Lauderdale. Daniel is member of our LEGO Mindstorms Group and is also working on the communication link between our lunar lander and lunar rover.
The topics included overview of the Google Lunar X PRIZE (including a brief history of X PRIZEs), the Team FREDNET mission, open source background, etc. There were many good questions ranging from hardware integration and pre-flight testing to how the prize money will be distributed :-)
Some of the students were already very familiar with the Google Lunar X PRIZE and the basic rules. There was also interest to get actively involved in this endeavour.
