Coming to Strasbourg

By Plane

Strasbourg's International Airport is located in Entzheim (15 km South-West of the city-centre). Its proximity to Frankfurt (D) and Zürich (CH) International Airports, both a two hour bus-ride away from Strasbourg, and the Euroairport in Basel-Mulhouse, located an hour away, make Strasbourg even more accessible.

There are direct flights to Strasbourg from Amsterdam (KLM), Paris (Air France), as well as several other locations. Lufthansa flies to Frankfurt and offers a shuttle service to Strasbourg center.

By Train

Strasbourg has direct connections to Paris, Lyon, South-Eastern France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Northern Italy and Eastern Europe. Strasbourg Central Station is located near the center of Strasbourg, and is linked with the city's Tram. The Tram stop is below the train station and the line will take you to the city center or to Illkirch-Graffenstaden.

By Car/Taxi

Strasbourg lies between two major highways. The A4 from Paris, Metz, Nancy and Luxembourg from the west, which turns into the A35 from Dijon and Mulhouse from the south.

The second highway is the A5 (also labeled E35 and E52), and is the major axis between Frankfurt, Germany and Basel, Switzerland. This highway passes 17 kilometers east of Strasbourg.

Please note that between Paris and Strasbourg, you will have to pay approximately 30 euros in tolls. Credit cards are accepted.

Coming from the airport

The ISU Central Campus is located in the Parc d'Innovation at Illkirch-Graffenstaden, a town in the southern part of the Strasbourg Urban Community. It is about 15 minutes from the center of Strasbourg by car, 30-35 minutes by public transport.

From Entzheim International Airport, it is about 15-20 minutes by car/taxi. From the airport, a taxi will cost approximately 25- 30 euros(rates are at the higher end at night, or during the weekend/holidays). There is a shuttle service from the airport to the tram stop Baggersee Illkirch. From there take tram A direction Illkirch to tram stop "Campus d'Illkirch". The ticket bought at the airport (about 5 euros) is valid for the complete journey (shutle+tram). Then follow the directions given under "Public transport".

By Car

From the center of Strasbourg, take the A35 (highway) south direction Colmar.

From the airport, take the same highway (A35) north, direction Strasbourg.

From either direction take exit 5, Illkirch Baggersee. At the traffic lights, go straight and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout take the 4th exit into the Parc d'Innovation. Continue on Blvd. S. Brant until you reach the next roundabout. There take the first right, you will see the new ISU campus on your right. Take the first right (the Holiday Inn will now be on your left), two more right turns and you are in the ISU car-park! By Public Transport

A tram runs from 4:30a.m. to 0:30 a.m., with one tram every four minutes at peak hours. To get to ISU take Tram "A" from the railway station or from city center, direction Illkirch, and get off at the Campus d'Illkirch station (next to McDonalds'). Turn left (oposite direction from continuing tram journey) and walk to the roundabout, cross over to the oposite side. (The building on your left is the Pole API.) Continue for about 5 meters on Blvd. S. Brant , cross the street to get to the pedestrian path adjacent to the new ISU campus, which should be visible on your right. From the tram stop, please follow the dotted line on the map below to access the campus.
